LohTech

Wisconsin company // broad ambitions

Serious curiosity. Questionable number of interests.

LohTech, LLC is a small Wisconsin company built around things worth understanding, building, improving, or occasionally taking apart for no particularly good reason.

Privately held. Founder operated. Organizational chart available upon request, but unlikely to impress.

01 // what we're about

A home for ideas that do not fit neatly in one category.

LohTech covers machines, technology, property, projects and whatever rabbit hole happens to be interesting this month. Some ideas may become businesses. Some will remain hobbies. A few probably should have remained ideas.

02 // operating philosophy

Make things better. Understand why they work.

The approach is heavily influenced by systems thinking and the Toyota Way: continuous improvement, learning by doing, fixing causes instead of symptoms, respecting the people doing the work, and refusing to add complexity unless it earns its place. None of this requires a laminated mission statement.

03

Research & Development

Motorcycles, RC cars, electronics, home projects, software, engines, tools and other things that can be improved, modified or misunderstood.

04

Aviation

The current fleet is entirely unmanned. Drones and RC aircraft provide most of the benefits of corporate aviation with substantially lower fuel bills.

05

Property

Real estate remains a longer-term ambition. For now: learning, researching, watching opportunities and maintaining a portfolio stronger in open tabs than acreage.

06

Technology

Useful when it solves a problem. Less impressive when it becomes the problem. Good technology should quietly earn its place.

tool, not identity

07 // long-term plan

Build useful things. Own interesting things. Keep learning.

Maybe that becomes property. Maybe a product. Maybe several small ventures. Maybe something that has not occurred to us yet.

LohTech exists so good ideas already have somewhere to go when they become more than ideas.

The five-year plan remains conveniently editable.
